Marriage and Family Therapist

I have been a licensed marriage and family therapist in the San Bernardino and Orange County since 1994. I provide therapy services for individuals, couples and family groups on a variety of life's problems and issues. My clients are of all ages-from young children to older adults.

I take a cognitive-behavioral approach in my work. I believe that our feelings and behaviors can change when we learn to modify our thinking. I take an active role in the learning process-asking questions, analyzing communication patterns, giving suggestions and working with my clients to develop strategies that will lead to better results.

A message from Dr. Kim Pariseau

Almost all of us reach times in our lives when we need the help and guidance of a professional therapist or counselor. I know how important it is to find a therapist you can talk to comfortably. Someone who provides warmth, direction and support as you learn, gain insight and grow.

I hope this website provides information that will help you understand the therapeutic process and how I might be able to help you and your family.

I believe in a goal-oriented, directive approach to therapy. That means that I get involved in the growth process by analyzing the communication style of the person, couple or family I'm working with. For me, therapy is a partnership. I'm here to help guide the process as we develop more effective strategies for dealing with particular issues and improving results.

You can count on me to bring my best to every therapy session. According to my clients, family and friends, I'm intelligent, interested, dedicated, responsible and trustworthy. I feel privileged to have worked in private practice for 20 years.

I completed my undergraduate work in sociology and psychology at University of California in Riverside, where I obtained two Bachelor of Arts degrees. My graduate studies at California State University, San Bernardino include clinical psychology, counseling and educational psychology. I went on to graduate with doctorate degree in psychology from American Behavioral Studies.

I received my California license as a marriage and family therapist. I have been a practicing therapist for the last 12 years. I opened my private practice at its present Orange County, California location in 2003.
